IBKTaxTax compliance The accountant’s platform: a deadline calendar, an AI assistant that cites the law, and a document library on one connected system. Answer six questions and it maps every obligation your companies carry.
iBookkeeperBusiness ecosystem Registration, accounting, payroll, foreign trade and legal support in one Samarkand company: the ecosystem the rest of these sit inside.
ScoremarchAdmissions · SAT prep Admissions consulting and an SAT academy. Its results page lays out students’ real score reports, filterable by score, section and year, in English and Russian.
Twitter BikesE‑commerce · design lead Bikes, frames, wheels and accessories. I led the experience, the visual identity, the core features, the infrastructure and the integrations.
SimuIELTSEdTech · contributor Not my product. I help out from time to time with debugging and design decisions. It puts you in front of the IELTS computer test before it meets you: full practice under real exam conditions, plus free essay checking.
iBookkeeper EducationEducation · SAT prep An education platform inside the iBookkeeper ecosystem. One‑on‑one SAT preparation across both sections, three to six months, with the target score written into the contract before lessons start.
Hotel operations platformInternal tools · 2026 Housekeeping, maintenance and front‑desk work for a 162‑room hotel on one board: tasks raised, claimed, reassigned and closed by room. Shipped on Docker behind a Caddy reverse proxy; it runs the building day to day.
Hilton UzbekistanHospitality · bookings Every Hilton in Uzbekistan on one site: six hotels across Samarkand and Tashkent, each with its own page, plus availability search, an interactive map and member rates.
School No. 37School site · 2021 The first version of the site for my high school in Samarkand, built in 2021 as things reopened after the pandemic. The first thing I ever shipped for someone other than myself.
IBKTax desktop appTax platform The working platform behind IBKTax: a deadline calendar, a compliance dashboard and an AI assistant that accountants in Uzbekistan use day to day. The IBKTax site is the front door; this is the product itself.
Karina Paper ProductsInternal tools · CRM A full CRM for the third largest B2B paper distributor in the market, built around how this one company actually works. GPS tracking on deliveries, warehouse management, order flows and receivables in one system.
TerrokandGame jam · 48 hours A flying‑carpet side‑scroller built over 48 hours for GameFest Uzbekistan with team Arcanoids, where I did the core level and game design. It runs on a custom 2D canvas engine written in TypeScript and ships as a Windows build through Electron. Submitted to the jam; copyright rests with GameFest.
Omarchy in UzbekLocalization · Linux Omarchy is DHH’s Linux for the agent era. Not my system — this is the Uzbek build of it: the site, the tagline and the install flow in Uzbek, so nobody here has to read English to get the thing running.
School No. 8School site · trilingual A specialized state school in Samarkand, on University Boulevard since 1956. Overview, academics, leadership and documents.
Ibragim ZayniyevPersonal site · 2026 A site I built for one of my students: his work in hotel accounting and tourism analysis, and the small tools he makes for a hotel’s staff, with two demos to try. Featured, to our surprise, in Domain Arrivals.

More coming soon.

One of the reasons I hate book lists is that if someone asks me the stupid question "what's the best book you've ever read?", my answer would depend on the time of the day, bicycling conditions, freshness of the last meal, ambient temperature, & current price of OTM options.

Books I like

Ada, or Ardor

by Vladimir Nabokov

Nabokov's most intricate and complex novel. You can see touches of his biography as he gave way up to himself, and this is what makes it so entertaining. Every time you read it, you pick up on more allusions, more puns, more inconsistencies in Van's retelling.
Mary

by Vladimir Nabokov

His first novel. Love the way his Russian prose is similar to his English, with all the humor transliterated to his later works. The way that humans idealize their memories is neatly described.
The Fractal Geometry of Nature

by Benoit Mandelbrot

A great essay about fractals, the concepts behind them, and their applications.
What Is ChatGPT Doing... and Why Does It Work?

by Stephen Wolfram

Work of the best person who qualifies to write a book about LLM's.
Epistulae Morales ad Lucilium

by Seneca

Not a big fan of the divine and the gods. I think stoics mostly associated gods with nature as a whole or a divine Deity, but that is just me and my skeptical empiricist mind. A great read.
Dracula

by Bram Stoker

I love everything related to vampires. The Great successor of Carmilla.
The Master and Margarita

by Mikhail Bulgakov

Two stories well connected to each other. Gives Studio Ghibli vibes as the reader is ambivalent towards antagonists.
The Monk

by Matthew Lewis

A splendidly described societal structure of modern churches and alike.

Books I want to read

We

by Yevgeny Zamyatin

The 1921 dystopia of a glass city where citizens are numbers, banned in the Soviet Union before it could be published there. Orwell reviewed it shortly before writing 1984.
Season of the Witch

by David Talbot

San Francisco from the Summer of Love through the Moscone and Milk assassinations to the early AIDS years, and how the city broke itself and put itself back together.
Boom: Bubbles and the End of Stagnation

by Byrne Hobart and Tobias Huber

An argument that speculative bubbles are sometimes how a society pays for the infrastructure it could not otherwise justify, and how that breaks a stretch of stagnation.

Excerpts

Passages I go back to.

FrankensteinMary Shelley · 1818
A human being in perfection ought always to preserve a calm and peaceful mind, and never to allow passion or a transitory desire to disturb his tranquillity.
Anna KareninaLeo Tolstoy · 1878
All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.

Written on the backs of five photographs on my photo wall. Put them back in order.
Beyond Good and EvilFriedrich Nietzsche · 1886
When you look into the abyss, the abyss also looks into you.
The Book of Five RingsMiyamoto Musashi · 1645
In duels of strategy you must move the opponent’s attitude. Attack where his spirit is lax, throw him into confusion, irritate and terrify him.
DiscoursesEpictetus
You may have utensils of gold, but your discourse, opinions, beliefs, actions and desires are fragile as earthenware.
Ada, or ArdorVladimir Nabokov
Revelation can be more perilous than Revolution.
The Black SwanNassim Nicholas Taleb
Never ask me for my opinion, forecast or recommendation. Just ask what I have — or don’t have — in my portfolio.
Staying UpwindPaul Graham
The less sure you are about what to do, the more important it is to choose options that give you more options in the future.
The Right Kind of StubbornPaul Graham · 2024
The persistent are attached to the goal. The obstinate are attached to their ideas about how to reach it.

Verse worth keeping in your head.

JabberwockyLewis Carroll · 1871
’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
The GraveRobert Blair · 1743
Tell us, ye dead! will none of you, in pity
To those you left behind, disclose the secret?
If—Rudyard Kipling · 1910
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you…
Быть знаменитым некрасивоBoris Pasternak · 1956
But be alive — only this matters —
alive and burning to the end.
Leaves from the VineAvatar: The Last Airbender
Leaves from the vine
Falling so slow
Like fragile tiny shells
Drifting in the foam
Little soldier boy
Come marching home
Brave soldier boy
Comes marching home

Short enough to carry around.

We suffer more often in imagination than in reality.
Seneca
You have power over your mind — not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.
Marcus Aurelius
First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do.
Epictetus
If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work and give orders. Teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea.
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
In lumine Tuo videbimus lumen

In Your light, we see light.

Columbia University
If you see no light around you, maybe you were meant to be the light.
Nosce te ipsum

Know thyself.

Latin maxim
Pestis eram vivus, moriens tua mors ero

Was a plague while alive; dying, I will be your death.

Latin epitaph
Omnia Romae venalia sunt

Everything in Rome has its price.

Sallust

The ones that shaped how I think about building things. Find me on Steam.

TerrariaSandbox
The one that leaks into everything else. The pixel tree on my home page and the Zenith sword you are dragging around this site both come from here.
The Witcher 3RPG
Side quests written better than most main stories. The photo wall borrows its look.
Cyberpunk 2077RPG
Night City as a place rather than a backdrop.
SkyrimRPG
The one you keep reinstalling. Ten years on it still finds a new corner to show you.
MinecraftSandbox
The other half of the sandbox habit, and quietly the reason I like building systems other people poke at.
Dota 2MOBA
The one that punishes ego. Five people solving the same problem in real time.
Counter-Strike 2Shooter
Pure mechanics. Nothing to hide behind.
BeholderNarrative
A landlord asked to inform on his tenants. Every choice costs somebody something.
Beholder: ConductorNarrative
Same bleak world, new seat. The series keeps finding fresh ways to make you complicit.
LEGO The HobbitAdventure
Middle-earth with the seriousness turned off. Unembarrassed comfort playing.
P.T.Horror · 2014
A first‑person horror that loops one L‑shaped corridor until you work out how to break it. Put out free under a made‑up studio name, revealed as a teaser for a Silent Hills that was cancelled, then pulled from the store. The installs left on old consoles are the only copies there are.
